You just have to get it on the MLS

MLS – Multiple listing service. This is the central hub where buyers and sellers come together to buy and sell real estate. YOU have to get your property on there to get the best exposure to buyers. This means you have to LIST your house with a broker. Here is the tricky part – lots of folks think in order to sell their home that they have to put their house on the market with a broker who has lots of name recognition. Sort of like the Farm CO-OP who shares equipment for the benefit of all. We come together as real estate professionals to transact the business and we share the property information for the benefit of our sellers to help them sell their homes.

So, here is the interesting catch – many times the brokerage SELLING your house IS NOT the brokerage who LISTED your house.

In our area, there are brokers don’t sell nearly as many houses as they list.  In other words, other brokerages bring the buyer.
